By day, I help multi-talented leaders build resilient organizations and lives they love while delivering results and changing the world for good. By night, I create art and work to make sure all kids have affordable, quality early education. In my spare time, I love cooking for friends and my complicated family. I am a sociologist and communicator by training, a juried artist, and a former nationally-ranked synchronized swimmer who loves coffee and Halloween.
I also love sharing ideas. I have stood on the TEDx stage and frequently commented on leadership and women, appearing in or on ABC, CBS, NBC, Vanity Fair, and Sirius XM. I lead the boards of two local organizations committed to children and opportunity and a political action committee investing in electing progressive women.

This weekend is dedicated to you, focusing on your aspirations and determination. We will devote half of our time to crafting a practical strategy for reaching your objectives. I attended this event in the midst of considering a career transition. The experience of being with a motivated group of women experiencing their own career and life transitions inspired me not only to continue my transition journey but also to see new possibilities as my career took some unexpected turns. As a result of being open to these changes, I have a renewed sense of passion for my work and greater confidence in my ability to influence my work environment toward my ultimate career fulfillment.

Where should I stay if I am coming in person?
The closest hotel is right next door at the Hotel Indigo. Two other wonderful hotels nearby are The Alexandrian and The Lorien Hotel.
My first retreat was so powerful that I returned yearly. In addition to providing me an opportunity to connect with new women leaders, I could reconnect with friends from previous retreats. More importantly, the retreat was a time for me to take a step back and ask myself important questions. Invariably, I returned to my life refreshed and ready to walk the new paths I had mapped out for myself.
I’m so grateful to have met and worked with Julie. I never imagined myself working with a coach or looking forward to a yearly women’s retreat, but now I cannot imagine missing my yearly refresh and relish having a strong, smart businesswoman in Julie to check in and work through questions, big and small.

This is actually the third time I've attended the conference. I really am walking away with a lot of clarity around what I want and a real plan to get there. I have something that has tangible milestones that I can check myself on to know whether or not I'm making progress. And for someone who is very driven and has that entrepreneurial spirit, having those milestones as ways to gauge progress and celebrate is really important. So, I'm really thankful to walk away with those this weekend.
